Hello! I have been bothered every time I remember a book I read but I cannot for the life of me remember the name of the book! I know the major part I remember is a girl and a friend who is a boy are BFF and then something happens and he gets mad at her and they split up. Then the friend decides he is going to shoot up the school. The main girl hides under a table in the library during the incident. I also remember her going to his moms house and I think looking at a scrap book or something??

There’s a YA book I would have read sometime around 2008-2012 I think I’ve been trying to find for years. I remember very little of it other than time travel was a key plot point. Someone in the book explain time as the stones in a diamond ring, where all moments exist at the same time, and we constantly jumping from stone to stone. There was a group of kids in it and part of the plot is that they did this big presentation or poster board about why people yawn, and how it is contagious. There’s a homeless man involved who is generally viewed as being crazy and I think referred to as “quackers” but in the end is ultimately revealed to have traveled back through time to save one of the kids from being hit and killed by a car, sacrificing himself in the process – he may have even been an older version of one of the kids from another timeline. And I remember the cover having a big red dot on top of a map. This is so vague, hopefully someone can help!

I believe I read this book when I was in grade school, so I know this is an upper elementary, middle grade genre book. It was most likely published post 2010. From what I remember it’s about this girl and it has to die with fairytales. So you can go through these magical doors and enter fairy tales. I’m pretty sure these kids are charged with completing these fairy tales, like Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty type stuff. There might’ve been a magical story book that like handed out quests. I remember there were multiple books, I think it was a trilogy. There was a scene in a later book that a girl gets her hand chopped off (not shown on page and it wasn’t described with graphic detail) and she’s covered up with a sheet. Her arm is then replaced with an arm made of gold. There’s a heavy emphasis on magical doorways.

I used to borrow this book from the library’s kids section. I have no idea what the title is but the author’s surname started with either a letter A or B. There were nice illustrations in the book, depicting brown bears. Story-wise, I vaguely remember a scene where the father bear passed away (maybe) and there was a huge progression in a snowy landscape. That is all I know. Let me know if this sounds familiar!

I’ve always wanted to find a book that I probably read in Jr. High, in 1983 or so. The plot is about a family who moves to a small town and follows a teen who is trying to fit in. There is a menacing boy / family who lives near by – I think the boy / teen has red hair. There is a terrible scene where he, and maybe his friends or brothers, drag someone to death behind a car /truck.

I read a book in early 2010s it was a YA novel that had something to do with greek mythology it was set on a Greek island I think and Nike was a big part of it (not Percy Jackson or Percy Jackson related at all). The main character was a female runner, teenager, and I think she had an enemies to lovers storyline with a boy who also ran. I want to say she moved to the island because of her parents or something and wasn’t a fan (at least initially?).

A teacher assigned it as class reading in sixth grade. It was about a boy who somehow got teleported to another planet full of animals and creatures similar to earth, but just a little different. He finds a tribe, (and a girl he likes?) and helps solve their problems, then one day, finds a can or bottle of Coca Cola buried, realizing he’s been in the future the whole time, and not on another planet. I don’t remember if he makes it back to his time or not.

I’m looking for a book I read in the early 2000s, it may have been older though. The book features a girl who ends up on a ship with an interesting crew of strangers who get stuck in the doldrums and each has to face a twisted version of their greatest desire, the cook has an obsession with catching a huge fish and eventually gets pulled of the boat and lost because of it. When they eventually escape and come back decades have passed which she doesn’t believe at first until she sees the size of a plant that was tiny when she left. Any suggestions would be appreciated, this has been driving me nuts for years now!
