I remember very little. It would have been in the early 80s, a YA book. A girl on vacation with her family. I think they were staying at a dude ranch. They ate it something like a mess hall. I remember her describing the lime jello.

Hi, the YA book I’m looking for I read when I was in high school between 2005-2008. It was about a Russian boy who is a ballet dancer who comes to an American high school or college on an exchange programme, I think, and falls for a a girl. He wants to stay and be with her but is being blackmailed to marry one of his fellow Russian dancers. That’s all I can remember about the book apart from it had a dark green cover. Thanks so much if you can find the name of this book for me.

I’m looking for a book that I believe was aimed at middle-grade readers. It involved a group of siblings who discover a sunken playhouse and the ghost of a boy who died by drowning…he allows them to breathe underwater somehow so they can play with him. What really sticks out to me is that the lake the adventure takes place in has a huge snapping turtle that poses a significant danger to them.

This was a paperback series, late 90s/early 2000s would be when I read it. It’s about a town that experiences paranormal stuff, usually involving aliens or mad science experiments. (May have been a ‘Scholastic’ book/series).
The key details I remember are:
1) The book always had an illustration of the town. The town was pyramid-shaped and with a UFO either at its top, or near the center.
2) One of the main characters mother (maybe both parents) was a secret government agent and would work to contain the paranormal phenomena, though the story always focused around the kids, and the son of this/these agent(s) was always oblivious to what she/they actually did for a living.
Trying to name this book series has been driving me nuts, hope you can help!

I’m trying to find a book I think I remember was written by a French or Hispanic (?) author. I remember it was well written, and she or he didn’t have many books. I had read 2 of her books, I’ll tell you about both.
1. The first one involved a boy who was shivering outside a bakery that a couple owned, they brought him in and took care of him. They (couple) had a son before, but he either died or disappeared. They take care of the boy who was found outside the bakery (may of been a cafe as well) and when someone (official) comes for the missing son, the one the couple brought in goes to fight for the army. I apologise, as this is only how much I know about this first book, but I vividly remember it being extremely touching and nice.
2. This second book had a cover of yellow on it with a blue sky (not realistic) and I think pyramids. I remember a boy who was involved in dangerous things, who got on a ship and met a girl. This girl was mute and had an older brother, and she stopped being mute after she met the boy involved in other business. The boy leaves her, to protect her, and I remember a tower somewhere in the story. I’m sorry again, because I don’t remember this that vividly. Thank you for your consideration, I hope you can find the book

I think this was part of a series, about a group of friends who solve mysteries in New York state. In this one someone tries to poison the main characters brother and there is a robot shark in the Hudson river. HELLLLLLP!!!!!

A book maybe a series about twins, one gets fed up with being constantly compared to her sister and gets a complete makeover, including dying her hair black and starting to speak with an accent. Read this around 2010, but I think it was much older.

In the mid to late 90s, I read a book from the library that was told in first person. A group of teen friends is taken to an island with the boat to return in like 5 days to pick them back up. One by one, the start dying until the last day when there were 2 left, the narrator and another girl. They end up coming face to face outside. The narrator has this mental monologue about what do you say when you are confronted by a killer. Turns out the narrator had worked her way into the friend group to get revenge for the death of her friend and was the one who was killing everyone.

I am looking for a book I read probably about 15 years ago. It was a story about a brother and sister who were sent to some sort of religious school. The boys and girls were kept separate and the sister was desperate to escape with her brother. I can’t remember if they had parents or not, but there were issues at home that meant they could not necessarily go back home. I really appreciate any help you can provide!

I am trying to remember the name of a book I read in junior high. I’m pretty sure it was written by a well-known female author, but this was a lesser-known book. It was about a red headed girl who befriends another teenage girl, who has dark hair and dark eyes. Lots of stuff happens, and the red headed girl (the narrator) gets hurt and can’t go to the dance. Then the dark haired girl wears the dress that the red headed girl made, which is pink, and the red headed girl realizes that she was bewitched and controlled by the dark haired girl, who is a witch, and the dress she made wouldn’t even look good on her because it was pink and wouldn’t look good with her complexion.
