I remember the cover of the book being black and dark green. The story followed a man, I think he gets lost somehow & ends up at this weird house in the middle of nowhere. He is invite in for dinner, but everything they’re eating is cover in maggots. He gets up to excuse himself, and gets lost in this maze house.. he is in the basement and the homeowner? Or the son of homeowner? Finds the guest in the basement & traps him. The guest keeps opening doors that only lead to more doors.

I’m looking for a book I read in 2005 or 2006. It was either 5th or 6th grade. I only remember a very few vague details. There was a boy and his uncle (or grandpa) who is a scientist? The uncle takes them on a trip to another world/dimension/time? I remember them having an encounter with Medusa? And other creatures of the like, but I specifically remember medusa. If you could help me I would greatly appreciate it, this has plagued me for SO LONG. This book was one of my favorites as a ki

This is my book I’ve always wanted to find again: it was I THINK a collection of sci-fi short stories, in one of which a character’s skin becomes translucent or transparent to the point that they can see all of their internal organs (which presumably remain as opaque as usual). At some point in the process of becoming translucent/transparent I think they went to live in a cave.

There’s this book I would have read close to thirty years ago, and I believed it was about two or three young men, possibly teenagers, who somehow travelled back in time. There was some about a marsh or swamp and dinosaurs, I think. For the life of me I can’t recall

I’ve been trying to remember the title of for ages. I read it in middle school so somewhere around the early 2010s. It was a book about this teenage girl spy who has to go undercover as a princess. In one of the books, she meets the prince and they kind of start to fall in love. I remember two of the covers. One was baby pink with a pearl bracelet on it and one was baby blue with a compact mirror on it. (The colors of the covers may be switched). I’ve been trying to find this book for ages but every time I type it into Google, it shows The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot and I know for a fact that that’s not it, I’ve never read The Princess Diaries.

I have been looking for decades for a book I read in the late 60”s or early 70’s. It was about a late high school or early college aged girl who took a job as an au pair looking after two children on a cruise ship. One of the children I’m pretty sure was named Candy; I don’t remember the brother’s name or the name of the protagonist – Joanna maybe? At one point in the story there was a costume party and Candy went as “the order of the bath”. I’m reasonably sure but not 100% sure that it was written in first person and I think the author’s name might have been Harrington or something similar. It was a mystery – I think maybe a treasure hunt. t I read the book many times but that’s all I can remember about it.

I’m looking for a book that I read as a teenager. It was about a girl that grew up in the poorest regions of india. She ran away from home (I think because of a forced marriage but could be wrong) and there’s some storyline explaning the society’s hierarchy. She worked her way up. initially there was something about about bandits but I dont remember if she joined or was afraid of them. Then at some point she worked for a very wealthy man. I dont remember any further than that sadly. I would really like to read it again.

I am trying to remember a book I read in the mid 1970s, about a boy being bullied at school. It was set in the USA and I’m guessing it would have been written in the early 1970s. At one point the boy sings The Beatles’ “Let It Be” to himself to try and comfort himself. I remember it had a brown cover and I feel like it was a picture of a boy peering through a slightly opened door down a corridor. But the Beatles quote is definitely in it, I remember because I was then and still am a Beatles obsessive! “The Chocolate War” has been suggested to me previously, but it’s not that.

I vaguely remember reading this book about a kid who moves to a new house with his parents. The kid starts getting emails and messages from someone and there’s also somehow an Ouroborus involved (also might have been on the book cover but at this point I might be making that up in my head). I also remember there being a part at the end where the mom gets like hypnotized and there’s a waterfall that breaks the spell or something like that.
