I have been searching for many years for a YA book I read in grade school that I loved and have not been able to forget. I would love to find it and read it again. I was in 5th or 6th grade so it was published before 1956. It may have been a paperback. It was told from the perspective of a young girl living in San Francisco during the 1906 earthquake. As I remember she experienced the quake and the aftermath; she explained in great detail her shock and fear and how this affected her life. Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated.
Could it be “Shaken Days” by Marion Garthwaite? https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/32570698-shaken-days
It came out in 1952. Goodreads shows it was published in hardcover but it could have become a Scholastic book club paperback at some point.
