they might both be the same book/series or set in the same universe, im not too sure, which is why i’m saying book/s anyway! these are both YA 1. they make magic candles by the sea (?) maybe? it’s a kid learning from someone older. they’re not human but are humanoid and are the main species on this planet. they don’t have technology. i remember them moulding the candles and making some to order and maybe making deliveries 🤔 they channeled magical energy into them 2. also humanoid and main species. it follows one kid i think but maybe more,, they’re in this town that’s surrounded by a hedge i think that they can’t get through bc it’s dangerous outside except there’s a gate thing that might have a monster in it or someone guarding it anyway. i think they’re assigned jobs? it was def a coming of age and escaping one! there were elders i think? at some point they definitely interacted w creatures that were dangerous last one that i don’t think is related 3. also YA,, oh my god i can’t remember anything except that it had a map 😭 i don’t think i’ll ever remember this one and it rly hurts my heart bc i want to know!!
